Hope Is A Discipline: Organizing for a Vibrant Multiracial Democracy
The moment demands more than incremental change. In this keynote, Dr. Carmen Rojas, president and CEO of the Marguerite Casey Foundation, moved beyond diagnosis to offer a blueprint for courageous action—uplifting how funders and nonprofits are pivoting from the playbooks of the past to build real power and plant the seeds of a liberated future.
Under her leadership, the foundation launched the prestigious Freedom Scholar Award and, since 2020, has granted more than $165 million to organizations shifting power to those historically excluded from it. Before joining the foundation, Dr. Rojas co-founded and led The Workers Lab, an innovation lab that partners with workers to develop bold ideas that help them succeed and flourish.
